Now established in California
Size: Adults are large (up to 4 cm). German and Brown-banded cockroaches
are
much smaller. In males,
wings extend 4-8 mm
beyond the tip of the abdomen. This cockroach is reddish brown all over,
except for a
pale band around the
margins of the pronotum. Cerci are slender and
strongly segmented
(13-14 segmented in females and 18-19 segmented in males). Males are
distinguished by having a pair of
tiny styli between
the longer cerci.
