Tenebrionids
are abundant and diverse, in California there a re more than 400 species.
The larvae are found in almost all terr estrial habitats: in rotten wood,
wood-rot fungi, sand dunes and other soil, in termite and nests, stored-food
products and in other places. The adults occur with the larvae, you can find
them under bark and debris on the ground, or they are seen running along
the desert habitats or other arid places, especially at dusk.
