The Argentine Ant is California's #1 pest, both in homes and in agriculture.
It came to the U.S. from Brazil via coffee shipments
to New Orleans, 1891 and arrived in California in 1908. The ant formerly
known as Iridiomyrmex humilis had its name changed in 1990.
