Crickets are similar to the
Tettigoniidae
in the form of their antennae and ovipositor. but the family may be distinguished
from that family by their 3-segmented tarsi and somewhat flattened dorsum.
Their cerci are usually long but single segmented. They produce and perceive
sound in the same manner.
